Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
- Ability to perform cooking demonstrations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Provides guests with information about Benihana foods as they are being cooked or upon guest inquiries
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preference and follows guest instructions
- Prepares meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties including cleaning of refrigeration units and floors
- Maintains kitchen, cooking areas, equipment and food storage in a clean and sanitary condition
- Complies with standards on food portioning, cooking methods, quality, recipes and service cycle
- Prepares foods according to portions and recipe specifications including battering and seasoning
- Adheres to guidelines on food presentation and garnishes
- Handles food storage and rotation properly following FIFO method
- Uses kitchen tools and equipment to prepare food for dining room
- Adheres to company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Presents a clean appearance and courteous manner with guests
- Notifies MOD if guests are dissatisfied or if accidents occur
- Participates in guest special occasion celebrations
- Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor
