Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
- Able to engage and entertain guests effectively
- Capable of following detailed cooking procedures and guest requests
- Must adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen areas
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties
- Greet and welcome guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Perform cooking shows for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is courteous and appropriate
- Provide guests with information about Benihana foods as they are prepared or upon inquiry
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Ask guests for cooking preferences and follow their instructions
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using various kitchen equipment
- Perform shift opening and closing cleaning duties as assigned
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, cooking areas, and equipment
- Follow company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, quality, recipes and service cycle
- Prepare foods according to company portion and recipe specifications including battering, breading, seasoning and marinating
- Adhere to company guidelines on food presentation and garnishes
- Handle, store, label and rotate foods properly following health safety laws and FIFO methods
- Use knives and kitchen tools to portion, cut, and prepare food
- Comply with company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Present a clean and neat appearance and use courteous manner with all guests
- Notify manager on duty of guest dissatisfaction or accidents promptly
- Participate in ensuring memorable guest special occasion celebrations
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
