The role of a Chef at Benihana is a blend of culinary art and performance, requiring skill, precision, and a warm personality. Chefs at Benihana don’t just cook; they perform for the guests, making each dining experience unique and memorable. This position primarily operates in front of guests at hibachi tables where food is prepared using various kitchen equipment including broilers, ovens, and grills. The Chef is expected to greet and engage guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order, ensure food portions and preparation meet Benihana’s high standards, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation at the cooking stations. Key responsibilities include preparing and cooking a variety of foods such as meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables, performing shift opening and closing duties, and upholding safety and quality standards in compliance with company policies and health regulations. The role demands a high level of food knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to entertain and interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner.

- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
