The Tennis Center Front Desk Attendant is a vital part-time role within the Parks and Recreation Department, specifically assigned to the Amarillo National Tennis Center. This role demands a highly personable and organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced, public-facing environment. The attendant is responsible for managing multiple administrative and customer service functions, including operating the front desk, handling membership registrations, processing court reservations, and managing cash transactions accurately. Working under the supervision of the Front Desk Manager, the Front Desk Attendant will provide essential support by greeting visitors, answering inquiries about the facility and Parks and Recreation programs, and providing detailed information about memberships, amenities, and services offered. The role includes managing reservations through recreation software systems, preparing daily cash reports, assisting with facility tours, and ensuring that the center's cleanliness and order are maintained. This position also requires the ability to handle stressful situations positively, manage public interactions professionally, and maintain confidentiality in record keeping.
This job is classified as non-exempt and part-time with a starting pay rate of $10.00 per hour. The Tennis Center Front Desk Attendant must be at least 16 years old and possess reliable transportation. The position does not include supervisory responsibilities but requires a team-oriented mindset, decisiveness, and strong problem-solving skills to respond to daily operational demands effectively. Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties
- Serve as receptionist and front desk attendant using proper telephone etiquette
- perform general administrative tasks including phone calls, email correspondence, sorting and filing records
- interact with customers to provide service, receive complaints and answer questions
- prepare detailed accounting reports on funds, charges, fees, and invoices
- demonstrate initiative and independent decision-making
- build teamwork and cooperate with other departments
- answer public or staff questions regarding the Tennis Center and Parks and Recreation
- open and/or close the facility timely
- conduct facility tours explaining amenities and memberships
- take accurate messages and communicate with staff
- use recreation software for payments, enrollments, memberships, and reservations
- prepare and balance daily cash reports
- maintain communication and professional relationships with staff and customers
- maintain cleanliness of the Tennis Center
- handle demands of interacting with youth and families positively
- perform other assigned duties as required
