The Temporary Summer Receptionist position at John Glenn Middle School offers a wonderful opportunity for individuals seeking a short-term clerical role during the summer months. This role is specifically designed to support the school’s summer program running from July 6 to July 23, 2026. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 1:15 pm, totaling 5.5 hours daily. This is a non-teacher summer opportunity suited ideally for those with prior clerical experience looking to contribute meaningfully to the school’s operations. Compensation for this position is $17.57 per hour, although it is important to note that this position is not benefits eligible.

As a Temporary Summer Receptionist, you will serve as the initial point of contact for visitors and callers at John Glenn Middle School. Your responsibilities will include monitoring building access, managing visitor logs, and maintaining communication through the school’s general phone line. You will assist in administrative tasks such as data entry, attendance tracking, coordinating deliveries, and supporting various office-related duties. Job Duties

  • Monitor and log visitors into the building, direct them to their destination, and administer visitor badges in accordance with visitor procedure
  • Answer the building's general phone number and transfer calls as appropriate
  • Answer the building's attendance line, enter attendance information in the student information system, and print automated attendance letters
  • Monitor security cameras and grant access to the building
  • Accept courier deliveries and contact proper person for pick-up
  • Assist visitors in locating designated meetings using the District email system's calendar
  • Update student address and phone number information on emergency cards and in the student information system
  • Stuff envelopes for mass mailings
  • Label and add photos to cumulative files
  • Enter data on Share Point and the building's website
  • Count out flyers, menus, and other materials to be sent home with students
  • Gather timesheets and check for completion against a staff roster
  • Other clerical duties as assigned (data entry, labeling, collating, sorting, alphabetizing, etc.)
