Positioned conveniently along Highway 99, Galt benefits from easy access to major urban centers such as Sacramento and the Bay Area, enhancing its appeal as a desirable residential and working location. The city's community spirit shines through popular events like the Galt Market, a vibrant open-air market that draws visitors regionally. With a growing population and affordable housing options, Galt maintains a warm hometown feel despite its expansion. Joining the City of Galt means becoming part of a community that values safety, recreation, and quality of life.
The City of Galt is currently seeking motivated individuals to fill temporary Recreation Worker II roles within its After School Education and Safety (ASES) Program. These positions are aligned with the Galt Elementary School calendar, requiring candidates who can commit to consistent work throughout the school year. Shifts usually commence about 15 minutes prior to student dismissal time, providing essential support to ensure a smooth and engaging after-school environment. This role demands individuals who are enthusiastic about youth development and community recreation, with responsibilities that span from supporting department staff to maintaining safe, fun, and educational activities for program participants. This position is ideal for candidates seeking temporary employment in a dynamic environment, requiring a high school diploma and at least 48 college units or an Associate's Degree. Alternatively, passing the District's Instructional Assistant Exam can fulfill the qualification requirement. The City of Galt offers a supportive work environment where employees can gain valuable experience in community recreation, public interaction, and program coordination. Working in this role also includes opportunities to develop essential skills such as customer service, safety enforcement, and team collaboration, making it a rewarding position for those passionate about contributing to their community.
