Gerber Collision & Glass is a leading company in the automotive collision repair industry, renowned for delivering outstanding collision and glass services with a commitment to excellence that spans over 80 years. As part of The Boyd Group, Gerber Collision & Glass operates with a dedication to integrity, diversity, and creating a supportive workplace environment where unique talents from all backgrounds are welcomed. The company prides itself on fostering a culture of respect and inclusion, encouraging qualified individuals, including those with disabilities and Protected Veterans, to apply and grow their careers. Known for its elite infrastructure and a dedicated team environment, Gerber continuously invests in its people to ensure every team member has the resources they need to succeed and excel in their roles. Gerber Collision & Glass carries a strong reputation for the "WOW Operating Way" - a plan focused on delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence at every touchpoint in the collision and glass repair processes. This commitment to quality and care extends from the initial vehicle intake through to the final delivery, where customer satisfaction is the ultimate goal.
The role of the Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass is pivotal in complementing the quality repair work by ensuring vehicles are clean and presentable before being returned to customers. The Porter’s responsibilities center around maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of both customer vehicles and the company's facilities, which includes the office, production areas, and surrounding grounds. This role is hands-on and requires attention to detail, as Porters pre-wash vehicles before repairs, perform interior and exterior cleanups after repairs, and maintain a neat and orderly work environment. Additionally, the Porter may be tasked with transporting customer vehicles to sublet locations for further repairs, adding an essential logistical component to the role. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $16 to $23, commensurate with skill, education, and experience, and may also include bonus opportunities linked to individual or business performance initiatives.
At Gerber Collision & Glass, being a Porter is not just a job but a vital part of the customer experience journey. The position requires a blend of physical stamina, good vision, and a strong work ethic. Candidates should be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license. Automotive experience is preferred, providing a foundation for understanding vehicle handling and care. This role offers more than just day-to-day duties; it’s a chance to be part of a winning team where your contribution directly impacts the customer’s satisfaction and the company’s reputation. The company provides comprehensive benefits starting day one and opportunities for continuous education, development, and personal growth, making Gerber Collision & Glass a top choice for individuals aiming to build a career in the collision repair industry.
