Job Description
Dignity Health Medical Foundation, established in 1993, is a prominent California nonprofit public benefit corporation with numerous care centers throughout the state. It is an affiliate of Dignity Health, one of the largest health systems in the United States, with hospitals and care centers spread across California, Arizona, and Nevada. The foundation collaborates closely with physicians and providers to deliver comprehensive health care services tailored to the diverse communities it serves. Dignity Health Medical Foundation continues to expand by establishing new premier care centers and making significant investments in the latest medical technologies, highly qualified physicians, and state-of-the-art medical facilities. The organization is dedicated to creating purposeful and respectful work environments that empower staff to provide outstanding care while offering opportunities for professional growth through challenging assignments and positive interpersonal relationships. The foundation values and maintains a well-trained, highly skilled workforce to uphold excellence in patient care and service.
Dignity Health Medical Group – Stockton, a division of this foundation, operates three multi-specialty clinic locations in Stockton, California. In partnership with the locally affiliated St. Joseph’s Medical Center, these clinics offer an integrated care system providing primary care in family medicine and internal medicine, as well as specialized care in cancer treatment, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and general surgery. The Medical Office Representative role within these clinics is a vital front-line position that ensures an exceptional patient experience. As the initial point of contact, the representative warmly welcomes patients, physicians, and visitors, efficiently manages inbound communications, and performs various administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the clinic.
This role demands excellent customer service skills, as the Medical Office Representative is responsible for greeting patients with courtesy, collecting and updating patient demographics and insurance information, verifying health plan eligibility, routing messages correctly, and scheduling appointments using an electronic practice management system. The position requires the ability to maintain empathy and professionalism, adapt to a high-volume work environment, and embrace the values of Dignity Health by following scripted greetings and closings to ensure a consistent patient experience. Candidates who succeed in this role bring enthusiasm for helping others, keen organizational abilities, and a positive attitude, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to quality patient care and operational excellence. This part-time or full-time position offers an opportunity to join a compassionate team devoted to improving community health in California through integrated and patient-centered healthcare delivery.
