Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in food service or food preparation
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • ability to handle money and operate a POS system
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
  • attendance at job-related training sessions required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in food preparation or food service desirable
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • experience with POS systems a plus
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Prepares and assists in serving of food according to standards related to sanitary conditions
  • uses all cooking equipment correctly
  • uses correct recipes and serving sizes
  • makes certain service is done in a professional and efficient manner
  • uses objective and subjective indicators to evaluate food quality
  • follows standards to check temperature of food and equipment
  • follows meal pattern requirements in serving student meals
  • follows standards of safety in preparing, storing, and serving food
  • receives and stores deliveries, ensuring products are labeled, dated, and rotated using FIFO method
  • places all grocery, paper, milk, produce, bread, and miscellaneous orders with support of supervisor
  • maintain personal habits to meet sanitation standards
  • accept payment and make change
  • operates POS system for students and adults
  • completes inventory of food and supplies when necessary
  • attends job-related training classes and workshops
  • preparing daily bank deposit for pick up by courier or operations supervisor
  • any other jobs as assigned
