The Food Service Worker is instrumental in maintaining food safety by following proper procedures for cooking, storing, and serving food. Tasks include using cooking equipment correctly, ensuring food temperatures meet safety standards, receiving and storing deliveries according to the FIFO method, and managing point-of-sale operations. The position requires attentiveness to detail in tracking inventory, handling payments, and readying bank deposits for courier pick-up. A strong commitment to personal sanitation standards is essential to maintaining the overall cleanliness and safety of the kitchen and dining areas.
Physical demands of the role include prolonged standing, walking, talking, hearing, and manual operation of kitchen equipment. Employees are occasionally expected to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
