The role of Temporary Housekeeper at WellQuest Living is a vital position responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and order throughout the residential apartments, public spaces, and work areas within the community. This temporary assignment, anticipated to last 2-3 months, reports directly to the Maintenance Director or Executive Director. The position involves comprehensive housekeeping duties, including cleaning furniture, fixtures, floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces in resident apartments as well as common areas. The Temporary Housekeeper also handles resident and community laundry services, using proper techniques and following strict safety guidelines.
Key responsibilities include performing routine cleaning duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing floors, and disinfecting surfaces to meet infection control standards. The housekeeper must also properly handle cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials, adhere to safety protocols including setting up caution signs, and use personal protective equipment when necessary. This role demands strong communication skills to interact tactfully and positively with residents, families, visitors, and other staff members while promoting a welcoming community atmosphere. Flexibility is also required to work on holidays and additional shifts when necessary. The housekeeper supports community marketing efforts by exhibiting a friendly demeanor during tours and public interactions as instructed by supervisors.
Candidates must demonstrate a genuine compassion for older adults and the ability to follow oral and written instructions diligently. A valid First Aid card and successful completion of a criminal record clearance are mandatory prior to employment.
