As a nonprofit deeply connected to its mission, the organization fosters a culture of inclusion, respect, and continuous learning, offering opportunities for personal and professional growth in the social services sector.

The Front Desk Receptionist role at Kids' Food Basket presents an exciting opportunity to serve as the first point of contact for visitors, volunteers, donors, and staff. This temporary, on-call position is crucial in creating a warm, organized, and welcoming environment that aligns with the organization’s mission-driven values. The receptionist is responsible for maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere at the front desk, handling communications, and supporting day-to-day operations to ensure smooth functioning of the facility. The role involves greeting visitors with a friendly and inclusive demeanor, answering and directing phone calls efficiently, and managing standard office communications such as emails and voicemails. Additionally, the receptionist supports hospitality and retail areas by ensuring these spaces are clean, stocked, and inviting, which enhances the overall experience for stakeholders engaging with Kids' Food Basket.

In this role, you will be part of a highly collaborative administrative team, assisting with various organizational aspects including supply coordination and maintaining shared spaces. Your work will be instrumental in fostering a positive volunteer and guest experience, reflecting the organization’s welcoming culture and commitment to community engagement. The position offers a dynamic environment where you will interact with diverse populations and gain exposure to nonprofit operations centered on food access and community health. With a flexible schedule that accommodates your availability, this role is ideal for individuals seeking meaningful, mission-driven work with a reputable nonprofit in Grand Rapids. Compensation for this temporary position is $20 per hour, providing a competitive wage for on-call administrative support.
