Job Description

AC Hotels by Marriott Minneapolis Downtown is a vibrant and modern hotel nestled in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. Known for its blend of Spanish roots, European soul, and a global mindset, the brand offers a uniquely stylish and timeless hotel experience. The Minneapolis Downtown location features 245 well-appointed rooms across 9 stories, along with amenities such as the AC lounge and bar, AC library, media salons, meeting spaces, a boardroom, and a fitness center. Conveniently connected to the city’s skyway system and situated at the intersection of 4th and Hennepin, this hotel stands out as an ideal destination for both business travelers and tourists seeking comfort combined with cultural flair. The hotel is just across from the Minneapolis Public Library, offering guests easy access to local attractions and resources.

We are currently seeking a Temporary Front Desk Support agent to join our team on a part-time basis, specifically for a temporary assignment lasting approximately two weeks to support our Power of M cutover process. This role is hourly and non-exempt, with an hourly wage of $19.00, and the assignment concludes on July 31, 2026. This position is ideal for individuals looking for flexible, short-term work in a dynamic hotel environment. The Front Desk Support will play a critical role in delivering excellent customer service to guests, ensuring check-in and check-out processes are efficient, and addressing guest inquiries both in person and over the phone. You will be the first point of contact for arriving guests, providing a warm welcome and assisting with any needs they may have during their stay.

This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to handle multiple tasks seamlessly in a fast-paced setting. You will be responsible for accurately processing guest transactions and maintaining precise records, which necessitates knowledge of cash handling and computerized systems. Since part of the role involves helping guests with reservations and providing information about hotel services and local events, strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude are essential. Job Requirements

  • Basic mathematical aptitude
  • Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures
  • Ability to operate computerized cash register systems
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Ability to use tact and understanding in customer service interactions

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Greet and check-in arriving guests using manual and computerized methods
  • Facilitate guest check-out by processing payments and closing accounts
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain personal bank according to hotel policies
  • Respond to guest inquiries and reservations in-person and via telephone
  • Operate PBX equipment to manage incoming and outgoing calls, wake-up calls, and guest paging
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel services and area events to provide accurate information
  • Uphold a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times
