The role of Temporary Executive Chef is a pivotal and creative position within Oakmont’s full scratch kitchens, expected to last up to four months with potential changes based on business needs. This salaried, exempt role offers a pay range between $72,100 and $85,000 and generally requires working a Tuesday through Saturday schedule with flexibility for additional hours, holidays, and weekends as needed. This position calls for an innovative culinary leader passionate about creating the best and freshest cuisine with a focus on seasonal, local ingredients using state-of-the-art kitchen technology. Job Requirements

  • Ability to learn, grow, and evolve
  • Experience leading a full scratch kitchen in a senior living or similar environment
  • Ability to manage fixed food, labor, and product costs
  • Capability to lead a kitchen effectively to deliver timely, high-quality dishes
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with staff, guests, and residents
  • Must pass a criminal background check and health screening tests including physical and TB tests
  • Willingness to comply with health and safety protocols related to COVID-19 including vaccination, daily screening, surveillance testing, and use of PPE when required

Job Qualifications

  • Experience leading a full scratch kitchen as an executive chef, kitchen manager, or executive sous chef
  • Proven ability to craft seasonally and guest-focused menus
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of food cost control and labor management
  • Excellent culinary creativity and innovation
