This university is renowned for its commitment to leadership, service, and innovation, maintaining high standards in research, education, and community engagement through its 14 degree-granting colleges and schools. The Knoxville campus, which includes the Institute of Agriculture, the Space Institute, and the UT Institute of Public Service, fosters strong connections with key industry leaders and research organizations like the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. UT Knoxville is recognized nationally as an excellent employer, noted particularly for its support of new graduates, women, and working parents.

This role is supervised by the Director of Strategic Programming and plays a vital part in the planning and execution of major events ranging from enrollment to commencement and beyond. The Event Coordinator works closely with internal units across the division and various campus partners such as the Office of the Chancellor, Student Life, Athletics, and the University Police Department. The position requires managing all facets of special programs and events including concerts, performances, donor engagement activities, professional development series, and notable speakers. A significant portion of the work involves vendor relations, budget management, and communication coordination both on and off campus.

Committee participation and support of office-wide initiatives are also important components of this role.

The hourly compensation is anticipated at $20, and the role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience managing high-profile university events within a supportive and dynamic educational environment.
