Job Description

Solstice Senior Living at Santa Rosa is a dedicated retirement community passionate about providing exceptional care and enriching the lives of seniors. With a focus on creating a warm, supportive environment that fosters independence and happiness, Solstice Senior Living offers residents a place where they can enjoy a well-earned retirement surrounded by compassionate staff and engaging amenities. The community is committed to excellence in all aspects of senior living, including dining experiences, which are an essential part of the residents’ day-to-day enjoyment and wellbeing.

We are currently seeking a Seasonal Cook/Baker to join our team. This part-time position offers employment ranging from 15 to 28 hours per week, providing a great opportunity for someone energetic and creative to make a meaningful contribution to our team. The Seasonal Cook/Baker will be instrumental in delivering a quality daily dining experience by preparing, baking, and serving delicious meals and baked goods in alignment with planned menus and recipes. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards our residents expect and ensuring that food quality, safety, and presentation meet or exceed established policies and procedures.

As a valued member of our culinary team, the Seasonal Cook/Baker will operate baking equipment, monitor cooking times and temperatures, and adjust oven settings to achieve the best results. Additionally, this role supports food preparation for special events and celebrations, which are an important aspect of community life, enhancing resident engagement and satisfaction. Attention to sanitary regulations and proper food storage techniques are crucial duties to guarantee food safety and quality. The position also involves inventory activities, ensuring that supplies and stock levels are adequately maintained to facilitate seamless kitchen operations.

This role requires a proactive individual capable not only of producing outstanding meals but also assisting with kitchen opening and closing duties and sometimes taking responsibility for supervising staff arrival and departure in the absence of the Culinary Services Director. The Seasonal Cook/Baker is expected to maintain a tidy and organized workspace and to uphold a positive and professional image that reflects the values of Solstice Senior Living. We value teamwork, continuous improvement, and dedication to resident care, all of which this role will help foster.

If you have a passion for culinary arts, a strong work ethic, and a heart for serving seniors, this opportunity at Solstice Senior Living could be the perfect fit for you. Join us and help create memorable dining experiences that brighten the days of our residents, while growing your skills within a supportive and caring environment.
