As a Food Service Worker at Aramark, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining sanitary kitchen operations. This position involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and supporting the completion of daily reports. You will be responsible for upholding rigorous standards in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices, ensuring that all food served is of excellent quality and prepared in a clean and safe environment. The role demands a hands-on approach to food service, including the preparation of a variety of food items and baked goods according to planned menus, serving food in compliance with meal schedules and departmental policies, and caring for kitchen equipment with special attention to safety.

You will be expected to understand what constitutes a complete meal, manage proper food storage in sanitary conditions, and assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, and steam tables. Additionally, you will help ensure food safety regulations are strictly followed regarding sanitation, food handling, and storage. Collaboration with the manager is essential, as you will connect daily to understand and prepare the menu accurately. The ability to supervise food temperature requirements and ensure the kitchen and storage areas are clean, organized, and safe is vital.

The position is dynamic, often requiring physical activity including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. You may also be required to wear uniforms and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as part of maintaining a safe work environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in food service or kitchen environment preferred
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, and extended standing
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • willingness to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, moping, and ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • wear uniforms and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
