The current opening is for a temporary Food Service Worker position within the dining services team. This role is essential to maintaining high-quality food preparation and delivery standards as directed by the Dining Services Director or Executive Chef. Job Qualifications
- High school education or in the process of obtaining one
- Minimum one year culinary experience in a hotel, country club, restaurant, or senior living community
- Servsafe certification or Monroe County Level 1 Food Worker Certification
- Knowledge of food safety and preparation
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Review menus prior to preparation of food
- Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus
- Prepare and serve alternative menu items for residents with food allergies or dietary restrictions
- Inspect special diet orders to ensure correct diets are served
- Complete necessary administrative forms, prep sheets, reports, and daily menus
- Ensure all dining procedures follow established policies
- File menus according to policy
- Maintain good working rapport with staff across departments
- Report hazardous conditions or equipment immediately
- Ensure food and supplies are ready for meals
- Assist with inventory and storage of incoming food and supplies
- Perform other duties as assigned
