The Teller Operations Supervisor position at MidFirst Bank is a critical leadership role that involves overseeing and guiding teller staff within the banking center. This full-time role is designed to provide leadership and coaching to tellers, ensuring that they deliver outstanding customer service while accurately processing transactions and introducing relevant banking products and services to customers. The Teller Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing teller work schedules, monitoring overtime, and ensuring operational efficiency throughout the banking day. Additionally, this role involves training new tellers, performing surprise cash audits, and conducting month-end audit procedures to maintain compliance with internal controls and banking regulations. The ideal candidate must be skilled in building and maintaining strong customer relationships to identify financial products that meet customer needs, as well as resolving inquiries and concerns to foster positive customer outcomes.

This position requires a minimum of two years of recent external banking experience in teller servicing or operational roles, along with demonstrated leadership capabilities. The Teller Operations Supervisor must be familiar with standard banking procedures, products, services, and regulations. The role also includes participation in formal and informal paid training sessions, with a requirement to pass Teller Certification to operate a teller drawer. Physical requirements include the ability to stand or sit for extended periods, perform repetitive motions such as typing, and lift cash drawers or related items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Working hours for the MidFirst Banking Center are Monday through Friday, from 7:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., and Saturday from 8:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Full-time employees are scheduled for 40 hours per week within these time frames and must be available to work weekends. This role also requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and encourages individuals who are willing to become a Notary or already hold notary status at the bank's expense.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years external banking experience in a teller role during the previous two years, or a minimum of three years external banking experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience in teller servicing and/or operational responsibilities
  • Knowledge of banking products, services, procedures and regulations
  • Willingness to become a notary if not currently one
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with customers
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with customers and peers
  • Strong work ethic and integrity
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Coach tellers to effectively identify opportunities with the customers they service
  • Manage teller work schedules, monitors overtime and assigns tasks as needed throughout the day
  • Train new tellers to ensure procedures are understood and executed properly to adhere to internal controls
  • Perform monthly surprise cash audits as well as month-end audit procedures
  • Greet customers and facilitate a welcoming and customer-focused environment
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers to help identify financial products and services that meet their needs
  • Process routine customer transactions as well as assist tellers with more complex transactions
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns to create positive solutions/outcomes
