Job Description
Flagstone Foods is a prominent food manufacturing company recognized as one of North America’s largest producers of snack nuts, trail mixes, and dried fruits. Headquartered in Minneapolis, with manufacturing plants spread across Robersonville, North Carolina; El Paso, Texas; and Dothan, Alabama, Flagstone Foods has built a strong reputation for quality, safety, and commitment to its workforce. The company culture emphasizes appreciation and teamwork, fostering an environment where employees feel valued and supported. It is a company that prides itself not just on the products it produces but also on the integrity and dedication of its teams who maintain the food safety standards, keep production lines running efficiently, and ensure the quality of its products is consistently high. Flagstone Foods is currently expanding its workforce, particularly looking for individuals who are reliable, committed, and safety-conscious, with a desire to be part of a collaborative team. They provide a respectful and supportive workplace, particularly valuing the contributions of individuals working directly on the manufacturing floor. The company offers competitive work schedules and benefits with a focus on the well-being of its employees, inviting those who take pride in their work and want to grow their careers in food manufacturing to join their team.
The role available is for a Sanitation Technician I on the second shift at the El Paso, Texas plant, reporting to the Sanitation Manager. This position is a critical part of the company’s sanitation food safety program, with primary responsibilities centered on properly cleaning and sanitizing plant equipment and the building in compliance with food safety policies and regulations established by the FDA and OSHA. The Sanitation Technician I ensures that all cleaning is performed thoroughly and safely using appropriate chemicals and methods, following established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs). This entry-level position requires an individual who can perform basic machine disassembly and setup for cleaning, effectively recognize equipment in need of deep cleaning, and contribute to general janitorial duties such as emptying garbage and stocking cleaning supplies. The role supports the overall safety and quality standards of the plant by reporting any employee safety, food safety, or quality concerns, and complying with all related training, policies, and procedures.
Working as a Sanitation Technician I involves being part of a fast-paced manufacturing environment where the ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and as part of a team is essential. Physical demands include regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stretching, bending, and lifting between 25 to 50 pounds, along with exposure to noise requiring hearing protection. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, providing a consistent second shift routine. Flagstone Foods emphasizes employee well-being by offering a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and HSA options, 401(k) plan with company match, and company-paid life and disability coverage, with benefits becoming effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment. This ensures employees can focus on their responsibilities with peace of mind, knowing they are supported both at work and in their personal health and financial future.
