At Giant Eagle, the focus is on creating a meaningful impact through compassionate service, care for community, and a culture that encourages individuals to thrive professionally and personally.

This particular role is within the Fresh Foods Manufacturing Commissary, where the primary responsibility is to prepare food items in a professional and efficient manner. The job demands strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain the highest quality standards. This includes inspecting food ingredients, equipment, and production environments for compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality assurance procedures. The role also involves maintaining detailed production records, HACCP documentation, and ensuring all operations meet federal, state, county, and company guidelines.

Additional responsibilities include controlling production costs effectively by minimizing waste and optimizing work processes, as well as ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the work environment in alignment with OSHA and Giant Eagle’s standards. Offering a starting pay rate of $17.50, this role is ideal for those with 1 to 3 years of experience in cooking, catering, or large volume batch cooking, and it favors candidates with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts and food safety certification. At Giant Eagle, employees find a place not only to apply their culinary skills but also to grow professionally within a company that values teamwork, safety, and quality. Joining Giant Eagle means becoming part of a community that cares about its people and the impact they have on customers’ lives and local neighborhoods.
