As a Coating/Plating Technician at StandardAero, you will be an integral part of the aerospace manufacturing and maintenance operations, focusing on processing customer hardware used in critical aircraft parts. This full-time role places you under the guidance of the department team lead, where your primary duties involve preparing and finishing components using electro-chemical plating tanks and other surface treatment methods. Your work will directly impact the quality and longevity of aircraft parts by ensuring they receive the correct coating applications that meet stringent aerospace standards.

Your responsibilities will include setting up racks and tanks properly for plating operations, including masking and wiring customer hardware with precision. You will process parts through various stages such as chemical cleaning, stripping, plating, baking, and coating, adhering strictly to process specifications and operational procedures. Surface preparation techniques like glass bead blasting, sandblasting, degreasing, and honing will be part of your daily tasks, requiring a good grasp of metal finishing disciplines, tank chemistry, and quality inspection practices.

Attention to detail will be crucial as you read and interpret blueprints, overhaul manuals, and repair procedures, ensuring the plating process aligns perfectly with the documented standards. Inspections before and after coating will be routine, utilizing calibrated measuring tools to maintain traceability and compliance with quality controls. You will be responsible for documenting process records accurately and reporting defects or nonconformances promptly, supporting both quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

StandardAero fosters a respectful and clean working environment, encouraging technicians to maintain their work areas and equipment following safety regulations. Cross-training opportunities are offered to enhance your skills further, contributing to a collaborative and versatile team atmosphere. This role requires physical stamina to lift or carry up to 40 pounds and the ability to stand or sit for at least half of your shift. Working in enclosed spaces will also be a part of the job, necessitating adaptability and compliance with safety protocols.

Joining StandardAero means you will be part of a longstanding tradition of aerospace excellence and innovation. The company values inclusivity, ensuring a harassment-free workplace that invites all employees to bring their authentic selves to work. As a team member, you will enjoy comprehensive healthcare, competitive retirement plans with company matching, paid time off from day one, bonus opportunities, and access to learning and training programs designed to help you grow professionally.
