Technical Professional IV (Quality Assurance Inspector)

The hiring organization is engaged in the aerospace industry, specifically supporting strategic contracts related to Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) for critical space exploration projects. This opportunity is for the role of a Quality Assurance Inspector. The position is full-time, based primarily on the first shift schedule with a 9/80 work schedule, and does not require any travel. The role is dedicated to supporting NASA's programs through rigorous quality control inspections and audits within a lab and manufacturing environment. The Quality Assurance Inspector serves as a vital link in the quality assurance process by meticulously inspecting components, repairs, hardware, and circuit boards used in aerospace applications.

The role involves various inspection responsibilities including shop floor manufacturing inspections, process inspections on components, acceptance testing of hardware, as well as shipping and receiving inspections. The inspector is tasked with auditing quality items and ensuring compliance with established standards. A significant part of the job is to review and update Acceptance Data Packages (ADPs), perform audits for NASA’s Boeing ISS program, and develop documentation and processes such as Receiving Inspection Instructions (RII) and Shipping Inspection Checklists (SIC). These documents are critical in standardizing inspection procedures and ensuring consistency across all quality evaluations.

The Quality Assurance Inspector will also work with multiple systems used in the aerospace manufacturing and quality assurance environment, such as TipQA, HHRS (Hardware History Retrieval System), VMDB (Vehicle Master Data Base), BNS (Boeing Nonconformance System), and MESci (Manufacturing Execution System Common Image). This role includes maintaining detailed records in these systems and reviewing and approving nonconformance reports within MES, which are essential for continuous improvement and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
