Gensler is a globally recognized design and architecture firm known for its innovative and impactful work across various sectors. It operates as a multidisciplinary practice offering services such as architecture, interior design, planning, and consulting. With a commitment to sustainability, creativity, and client collaboration, Gensler has made a significant mark in the design world by transforming spaces that foster improved human experiences and environmental responsibility. The firm supports a culture of learning, diversity, and professional growth, making it a top choice for talented designers and architects seeking to advance their careers.
The role of Technical Designer at Gensler offers a unique opportunity to work closely with Design Directors to develop comprehensive design solutions and oversee the project through the construction documentation stage. In this capacity, you will be instrumental in translating architectural sketches and concepts into detailed 2D and 3D models, presentations, and production documents. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and a collaborative spirit to ensure project success from initial conceptualization through to project delivery.
As a Technical Designer, you will engage in all phases of a project's lifecycle, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and final construction drawings. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders such as clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies, ensuring smooth coordination and communication. Gensler values practical and innovative design resolutions, and you will be expected to resolve complex technical challenges effectively. The role also involves mentoring and team collaboration, contributing to the vibrant office culture through various initiatives and educational programs.
Candidates with strong proficiency in software tools such as Revit, BIM360, Octane, SketchUp, Lumion, Rhino, V-Ray, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite will find this position rewarding. Experience with VR/AR technologies applicable to architectural design is considered a plus, highlighting Gensler's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology. Beneficial knowledge areas include material applications, construction methods, building codes, and sustainable design practices. While a licensed architect designation is preferred, the role is also open to unlicensed architects who will operate under the title Technical Designer.
Gensler offers a competitive base salary range estimated between $104,000 - $128,000, inclusive of bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package tailored to support a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Among the benefits are medical, dental, vision coverage, disability insurance, wellness programs, paid holidays, and paid time off. Gensler also provides a 401k plan, profit sharing, employee stock ownership, and biannual bonus opportunities. The firm invests in professional development by reimbursing certain licensure, renewal fees, exam fees, and eligible tuition programs. This professional growth focus underscores Gensler's dedication to nurturing talent and advancing industry expertise within its team.
