This job posting is for the position of Technical Consultant - Patient Monitoring in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. This field-based role offers a dynamic opportunity to join Philips’ Hospital Patient Monitoring business, where you will build hands-on expertise in installing, supporting, and maintaining state-of-the-art patient monitoring solutions. The role emphasizes technical proficiency in healthcare IT systems, the ability to troubleshoot complex medical devices, and a collaborative approach to working with clinical teams and other stakeholders.

As a Technical Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering both onsite and remote technical support, swiftly addressing customer issues to minimize disruptions to clinical and operational functions within healthcare settings. You will support the entire lifecycle of patient monitoring and related IT infrastructure solutions, including installation, configuration, integration, and testing. Your understanding of diverse hospital environments will be key in ensuring systems are effectively implemented and optimized for long-term use.

The role also involves diagnosing and resolving system, network, and application related issues through structured troubleshooting methods, thereby enhancing system reliability and performance. You'll document all technical activities accurately and adhere to configuration management practices to support sustainable knowledge sharing and solution scalability. Collaboration with senior engineers, clinical partners, sales teams, and service teams is vital to delivering high-quality technological outcomes that directly improve patient care.

Ideal candidates will have at least 2.5 years of professional experience in IT services or related technical environments, preferably within healthcare or hospital settings. Experience with patient monitoring devices, telemetry units, ventilators, and defibrillators is highly preferred. A foundational understanding of IT systems, networking concepts, and troubleshooting is essential, with certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent being advantageous. Educational requirements include an associate degree in computer science, biomedical, engineering, or related fields; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

This position requires flexibility and the ability to travel extensively, with approximately 75% travel expected, including daily driving and occasional overnight stays. Working conditions include office, home office, and healthcare environments, necessitating compliance with vendor credentialing and the wearing of personal protective equipment. The role may require working non-standard business hours, including weekends and on-call rotations.

Philips offers a competitive hourly pay range of $32.00 to $51.00 in California, plus eligibility for overtime, field service incentive bonuses, on-call pay, and company fleet/car usage. Job Qualifications

Job Duties
