Job Description
The Team/Crew Member position is an essential role within the fast-paced restaurant environment, designed to deliver quality products and exceptional service to guests. This position is directly supervised by the Manager on Duty (MOD) and is classified as a nonexempt role, adhering to the operational procedures and standards set by the company. As part of the operational team, the Crew Member is expected to carry out various station duties, including but not limited to fountain and frozen station, dresser station, front and back swamp, grill, switchboard, expeditor, food preparation, and drive-thru if applicable. This role demands versatility, as team members may be assigned to different stations to effectively meet the daily operational standards and ensure smooth restaurant functions.
Working as a Team/Crew Member, individuals are constantly engaged in delivering service excellence through efficient task execution and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Key operational activities include regular cleaning and sanitation duties such as trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and the safe removal of used grease according to the set standards. This comprehensive approach guarantees not only a hygienic workspace but also supports the consistency of the food quality and safety standards for all guests.
The position involves physical duties, including lifting and moving food products weighing up to 50 pounds, and requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, and moving throughout the shift. The work environment is dynamic and often exposes employees to various temperature extremes, including heat and hot liquids during cooking, cold conditions when handling freezer-stocked products, and outdoor weather fluctuations. Because of these physical demands and work conditions, employees must demonstrate flexibility and a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
In addition to the operational and sanitation responsibilities, this role encompasses excellent communication practices. Crew members are expected to report any customer or employee complaints or issues promptly to the MOD to ensure swift resolution and maintain high customer satisfaction levels. They must also be capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously, follow detailed directions accurately, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Shift expectations for this role include irregular hours, which may cover nights, weekends, and holidays, requiring adaptability and a reliable attendance record.
Overall, the Team/Crew Member role is vital to the successful operation of a restaurant, contributing to guest satisfaction and overall operational success by combining hands-on operational duties, adherence to safety and cleanliness standards, effective communication, and exceptional teamwork.
