Job Description
The company seeking to fill the Team/Crew Member position operates within the fast-paced food service industry, providing a variety of meals and beverages to a diverse clientele. This establishment is dedicated to delivering high-quality products paired with efficient, friendly service to ensure an enjoyable guest experience. As part of a dynamic restaurant or retail environment, the company values teamwork, operational excellence, and a customer-first mindset. This position is classified as nonexempt, indicating it is an hourly role with compensation based on hours worked, appropriate for candidates looking to gain valuable experience in food service and hospitality.
The Team/Crew Member position plays a vital role in maintaining smooth operations within the restaurant. Under the immediate supervision of the Manager on Duty (MOD), individuals in this role handle a variety of operational duties essential for delivering quality products and service to guests. The responsibilities include performing station duties across various operational points such as the fountain and frozen beverage station, food preparation areas, grills, drive-thru (if applicable), and front and back swamp stations. This variety ensures that crew members engage in multiple aspects of the customer service and food production process, promoting versatility and comprehensive skill development.
Additionally, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards is a key part of the role. This involves regularly performing cleaning tasks such as trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food prep areas, cleaning kitchen equipment, and safely disposing of used grease. The emphasis on sanitation is crucial in adhering to health and safety regulations in a food service environment.
Crew Members are expected to demonstrate reliability through regular attendance and adaptability by working irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. The job also requires physical stamina to handle tasks such as moving and stocking food items weighing up to 50 pounds, and performing continuous standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. Exposure to hot cooking environments and varying weather conditions is part of the work setting, demanding a robust and resilient attitude.
This role offers the opportunity to develop essential skills such as multitasking, effective verbal and written communication, and basic math and reading proficiency. The ability to follow directions accurately and to report customer or employee concerns to supervisory staff fosters a professional and responsive workplace culture. Overall, the Team/Crew Member position is ideal for individuals seeking entry-level experience in the restaurant industry, with opportunities to learn and grow within an operational team dedicated to customer satisfaction and food quality.
