This role is a crucial part of the Chuze Fitness team, focusing on delivering outstanding hospitality and support to both members and prospective members. Working as a team member at Chuze means being at the forefront of creating memorable experiences, from greeting members with energy and warmth to guiding newcomers on tours and helping them understand membership options. The position is hourly, with a pay range between $14.25 and $15.34 based on experience, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding its employees fairly.

As a team member, your day will be filled with diverse responsibilities. The role goes beyond routine exercises and maintenance, encompassing the art of outstanding customer interaction, embodying kindness, and a strong work ethic. Key functions include welcoming and interacting with members and guests, managing membership sign-ups, assisting with billing inquiries, maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of gym facilities, and even preparing customized smoothies where applicable.

Job Requirements

  • Able to read, write, and speak clearly in English
  • able to walk and climb stairs during gym tours
  • able to bend, kneel, and perform repetitive arm movements
  • able to stand for long periods
  • able to operate computer systems
  • ability to lift at least 50lbs
  • availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • friendly and approachable demeanor
  • ability to operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash transactions
  • experience in customer service preferred
  • ability to learn and complete training modules in Learning Management System (LMS)
  • basic knowledge of fitness equipment and programs is a plus
  • ability to work effectively within a team environment

Job Duties

  • Welcome, greet, and interact with all members, prospective members, and guests
  • provide membership information and facilitate tours
  • complete daily cleaning tasks and ensure gym presentation is always extraordinarily clean
  • membership sign-ups, answering phones, point-of-sale transactions, and addressing member concerns
  • assist with billing issues and disputes and escalate to leadership when needed
  • regularly review and complete all training materials and updates in the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • maintain knowledge and assist members with all amenities, membership offerings, fitness programs, and equipment functions
  • make and serve smoothies, if applicable, ensuring they meet customer specifications and maintaining quality standards
  • attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings
