Applegreen US is a prominent operator of over 100 travel plazas located across the Northeast and Midwest regions of the United States. The role of Team Member at Applegreen US is essential to the smooth operation of these travel plazas. This position plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and supporting the diverse food and retail offerings available to travelers. Employed in the Operations department with a non-exempt status, the Team Member reports directly to the General Manager. Positions are offered as seasonal associates, typically hired during the busiest periods from April 1st through September 30th, which allows for flexibility with part-time and full-time roles and varied shift options. Job Requirements

  • Able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
  • frequently bend, twist, lift and carry at least 40 pounds

  • cash handling and customer service experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Consistently provide friendly customer service by engaging in positive, helpful interactions with customers (travelers)
  • operate point-of-sale (POS) system, accurately process and receive payment from customers, and follow all customer service and cash handling policies and procedures
  • ensure proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labelling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of products
  • complete a variety of kitchen-related tasks including prepping, thawing, cooking, packaging, wrapping, and cleaning
  • stock, clean, and sanitize workstation and equipment
  • actively cross-sell and up-sell products
  • maintain a solid knowledge of products and services available in the plaza
  • follow required brand standards, food safety requirements, as well as all company policies and procedures
  • execute a variety of other tasks as assigned
