The Team Member role at Caribou Coffee is central to bringing the brand's purpose and values to life. This position involves more than just serving coffee; it requires creating day-making experiences for guests through providing exceptional service, crafting world-class hand-made beverages, and contributing to a positive and inclusive store environment. Team Members engage with guests by forming personal connections, anticipating their needs, and delivering enthusiastic recommendations to enhance their visit. They work dynamically, floating between barista and guest service responsibilities, while upholding Caribou Coffee's high standards for cleanliness, organization, and operational excellence.

This role requires a proactive attitude and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, team-driven setting. Team Members also play a key part in maintaining the smooth operation of the store, managing cash transactions accurately, and supporting leadership when needed. The physical demands of the job include standing and moving for several hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and engaging in various tasks that require reaching, bending, and other moderate physical activities, all achievable with or without accommodations. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to stand and move intermittently for 4 to 8 hours
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to learn and take direction
  • strong customer service orientation

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work at least one of the following: early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends
  • must be at least 16 years of age
  • preferred experience includes restaurant, retail or guest service experience

Job Duties

  • Provides incredible guest service by developing personal ongoing relationships with guests

  • hand-crafts beverages to order per Caribou standard operating procedures
  • heats, prepares, and serves Caribou food offerings to Caribou standard operating procedures
  • floats between barista and guest service and willingly fulfills all team member roles and responsibilities
  • takes guest orders and manages cash drawer following cash handling policies and procedures
  • maintains the look and feel of a well-run store by following cleanliness, sanitization and organization standards
  • actively thinks and acts upon what the team and guest will need in the future
  • differentiates between problems that can be solved directly and when to ask for leader support
  • understands that the team manages multiple priorities and willingly takes direction from leaders
