The Team Member role at Caribou Coffee is pivotal to delivering the brand's purpose and values. As the core of the Caribou experience, team members are responsible for creating memorable moments for guests by providing unparalleled hospitality, preparing world-class beverages, and embodying the company’s core values in every interaction. This role requires a person who is enthusiastic, customer-focused, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment. A Team Member not only crafts beverages and serves food offerings according to Caribou's high standards but also actively engages with guests by developing personal relationships, anticipating their needs, and making informed recommendations. This position demands versatility, as team members float between various responsibilities including guest service, beverage preparation, and cash handling.

Job Duties

  • Provide incredible guest service by developing personal ongoing relationships with guests
  • practice active listening and connection
  • anticipate guest needs and proactively solve guest opportunities by demonstrating product knowledge and hospitality
  • make enthusiastic and knowledgeable recommendations to delight guests
  • create day-making experiences that spark a chain reaction of good
  • hand-craft beverages to order per Caribou standard operating procedures
  • heat, prepare, and serve Caribou food offerings to Caribou standard operating procedures
  • float between barista and guest service and willingly fulfill all team member roles and responsibilities
  • take guest orders and manage cash drawer and follow all cash handling policies and procedures
  • maintain the look and feel of a well-run store by following cleanliness, sanitization and organization standards
  • actively think and act upon what the team and guest will need in the future
  • differentiate between problems that can be solved directly and when to ask for leader support
  • understand that the team is managing multiple priorities and willingly take direction from leaders
  • bring the core values to life in all tasks including Support One Another, Make Fun Happen, Be Yourself, Take Ownership, and Serve With Love
