In this role, you will be at the forefront of member engagement, responsible for creating unforgettable experiences that leave a lasting impression on both current and prospective members. Your daily activities will be varied and interactive, involving warm greetings, enthusiastic high fives, proficient phone etiquette, and guiding individuals through membership sign-ups and facility tours. Additionally, maintaining the gym’s cleanliness and overall presentation to the highest standards is a critical aspect of the job.

The role also requires involvement in several administrative and operational functions, including handling point-of-sale transactions, addressing membership concerns, and assisting with billing issues. A key part of your responsibility will be to stay well-informed about all amenities, membership offerings, fitness programs, and equipment functionalities to assist members effectively.

To excel in this position, you will engage regularly with ongoing training materials available through the company’s Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring your knowledge remains current and comprehensive. There is also an opportunity to contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the smoothie bar, if applicable, by preparing and serving smoothies that meet customer specifications while maintaining high-quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • Able to read, write, and speak clearly in English
  • willingness to engage actively with members and guests
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to walk and climb stairs for touring the gym
  • ability to bend, kneel, and perform repetitive arm movements
  • ability to operate a computer
  • capability to lift at least 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in customer service or hospitality roles beneficial
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • familiarity with basic computer operations
  • willingness to learn and complete ongoing training
  • basic knowledge of fitness industry a plus

Job Duties

  • Welcome, greet, and interact with all members, prospective members, and guests
  • provide membership information and facilitate tours
  • complete daily cleaning tasks and ensure gym presentation is always extraordinarily clean
  • handle membership sign-ups, answering phones, point-of-sale transactions, and addressing member concerns
  • assist with billing issues and disputes and escalate to leadership when needed
  • regularly review and complete all training materials and updates in the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • maintain knowledge and assist members with all amenities, membership offerings, fitness programs, and equipment functions
  • make and serve smoothies, if applicable, ensuring they meet customer specifications and maintaining quality standards
  • attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings
