The Team Member position at Caribou Coffee is the heart of the customer experience. This role is essential in delivering exceptional guest service by preparing world-class, hand-crafted beverages and making every interaction a reflection of Caribou’s core purpose and values. Team Members are responsible for connecting personally with guests, anticipating their needs, and providing knowledgeable recommendations to enhance their visit. The position requires versatility, as Team Members will float between barista duties and guest service, managing orders, cash handling, and maintaining the store's appearance to the highest standards. They play a pivotal role in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards, contributing to an inviting and efficient environment. The role demands a positive attitude, resilience under pressure, and a willingness to support team members while upholding the company’s values such as support, fun, authenticity, ownership, and love in service. Team Members are encouraged to embrace lifelong learning and take ownership of their impact within the store and community. This position requires physical stamina and includes duties that involve lifting, standing, and moving intermittently throughout a shift that can range from 4 to 8 hours. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays, and/or weekends
- ability to see, hear, speak, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, sit, stand for 4 to 8 hours, bend, and move intermittently during working hours
- willingness to work full-time or part-time
- commitment to delivering excellent guest service
- ability to manage cash handling procedures
- physical capability to meet job demands
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work at least one of the following: early mornings, evenings, some holidays, and/or weekends
- must be at least 16 years of age
- restaurant, retail, or guest service experience preferred
Job Duties
- Provides incredible guest service by developing personal ongoing relationships with guests
- practices active listening and connection
- anticipates guest needs and proactively solves guest opportunities by demonstrating product knowledge and hospitality
- makes enthusiastic and knowledgeable recommendations to delight guests
- creates day making experiences that spark a chain reaction of good
- hand-crafts beverages to order per Caribou standard operating procedures
- heats, prepares, and serves Caribou food offerings to Caribou standard operating procedures
- floats between barista and guest service and willingly fulfills all team member roles and responsibilities
- takes guest orders and manages cash drawer following all cash handling policies and procedures
- maintains the look and feel of a well-run store by following cleanliness, sanitization, and organization standards
- actively thinks and acts upon what the team and guest will need in the future
- differentiates between problems that can be solved directly and when to ask for leader support
- willingly takes direction from leaders and supports multiple priorities
- brings core values to life including support one another, make fun happen, be yourself, take ownership, and serve with love
- shows resilience under pressure and willingly asks for help
