The Team Member position at Sbarro located at 101 Jordan Creek Pkwy, SP 12500 West Des Moines, IA 50266 is a critical role that involves providing excellent front-line service to guests. Reporting directly to the General Manager, Team Members are hired primarily for specific roles such as Server/Cashier, Pizza Maker, Steam Cook/Prep, or Dishwasher. Cross-training in multiple duties is highly desirable, enabling smooth operations and enhanced teamwork.

As a Server/Cashier, the team member must serve customers promptly within their assigned station, adhering to prescribed methods and maintaining superior guest service standards. Responsibilities include greeting guests, making purchase suggestions, ensuring satisfaction, and handling transactions accurately using the Sbarro point-of-sale system while following cash handling policies. Maintaining extensive product knowledge regarding ingredients, presentation, pricing, and specials is vital to enhancing sales and customer experience.

For those in the Pizza Maker role, preparation of all food items must align with Sbarro’s detailed Recipe Manual and Recipe Cards, employing strict food safety and sanitation protocols. This role involves accurately judging pizza production volumes based on sales expectations, maintaining communication regarding inventory status and quality, and assisting with cleaning and stocking duties. Similar standards apply to the Steam Cook/Prep role, which focuses on independently preparing food products, operating kitchen equipment safely, and maintaining strict compliance with food safety regulations including FIFO inventory rotation.

The Dishwasher position demands a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation across multiple areas, including the dining room, sinks, restrooms, and storage facilities. This role may also include guest interaction responsibilities such as greeting and providing service within assigned stations. Adherence to food safety standards and assistance with other team members’ duties is expected.
