Job Description
This restaurant is an independently owned and operated franchise of Del Taco, a well-known fast food restaurant chain specializing in American and Mexican cuisine. Unlike corporate-owned locations, this particular restaurant is managed by an independent franchisee who is responsible for all employment-related matters including hiring, firing, discipline, wages, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. Operating in the vibrant community of Escondido, CA, this location prides itself on delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service to its guests. The franchisee’s commitment to excellence ensures a supportive and dynamic work environment that strives to foster growth and development among its team members.
The position available is for a Team Member who plays a crucial role in shaping the guest experience. Team Members at this restaurant are the heart of operations and are expected to consistently perform at their best to create an inviting and enjoyable atmosphere for patrons. This role is vital in maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Team Members are instrumental in promoting an optimistic and rewarding culture within the restaurant, contributing directly to the overall success of the business.
The role requires individuals who are cheerful, helpful, and capable of multi-tasking effectively while adhering to restaurant policies and standards. Candidates will be trained to use the Point of Sale (POS) system to accurately take orders, process payments, and explain menu items to guests to ensure an informed dining experience. They will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and food handling standards throughout their shifts. The job demands physical stamina as Team Members must be able to stand and walk for nearly the entire duration of their shift, perform various physical tasks such as bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
This position is ideal for individuals with strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively in English, and a willingness to work as part of a team. Food Handler certification may be required, emphasizing the importance of food safety and sanitation knowledge. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory, and candidates must be at least 16 years old. The role offers an opportunity to join a well-established brand through a locally dedicated franchisee and to gain valuable experience in the fast-paced restaurant industry.
As employment is handled directly by the independent franchisee, team members can expect direct communication and support from local management. The franchisee’s autonomy in employment decisions allows for a personalized approach to staff development and work environment tailoring. This position supports the company's commitment to equal employment opportunity and a work environment free from discrimination and harassment, promoting respect and dignity for all employees.
Addressed to candidates ready to contribute enthusiastically and take pride in their work, this Team Member position at the Del Taco franchise in Escondido offers a foundational role within a growing and community-focused business. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for those seeking to build career skills in customer service, food preparation, and restaurant operations within a well-recognized fast food brand.
