This position is for a Team Member role located in a restaurant operated by an independent franchisee. The pay rate ranges from $20.00 to $20.50 per hour, dependent on experience. As a Team Member at Jack in the Box, your primary responsibility is to deliver an exceptional guest experience by consistently providing excellent service, preparing great-tasting and quality food, and maintaining a clean and safe restaurant environment. This role is dynamic and involves working at one or more workstations including front of the restaurant, grill, assembly, preparation, fryer, and maintenance duties both inside and outside the restaurant. You will engage with guests in dine-in or drive-thru scenarios, ensuring orders are taken accurately, prepared promptly, and served with a friendly attitude. The role demands adherence to Jack in the Box procedures, systems, and standards, reflecting the company’s 20/20 guest expectations framework.
Team Members are brand ambassadors who exhibit passion for Jack in the Box and inspire others while fostering a hospitable atmosphere. You will handle guest interactions with care and respect, respond positively to guest complaints by following the Listen, Say Sorry, Make it Right approach, and ensure order accuracy by verifying all condiments and supplies accompany the food. Organizational skills are essential to maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant including the dining area, kitchen, restrooms, and exterior premises.
In addition to guest service, you will be responsible for food safety by following all hand washing, glove use, and storage procedures, discarding expired or substandard ingredients, and complying with regulatory standards. Flexibility to work in various operational areas within the restaurant is vital, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team environment. Proper grooming standards, a positive attitude, and dependability are critical traits expected from Team Members. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shift
- Physical ability to lift and carry 15-25 lbs
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Experience in guest service or food preparation helpful
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Ability to communicate clearly in English
- Ability to read and understand written English
- Perform basic math including addition, subtraction, and multiplication
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment
- Physical ability to stand and walk for 90-95% of shift
- Ability to lift and carry 15-25 lbs
Job Duties
- Deliver excellent guest service and greet guests with a smile
- Take and clarify orders, assist with menu selection, and enter orders in POS system
- Assemble and personally deliver orders ensuring order accuracy and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of front of house, restrooms, and dining areas
- Operate grill and fryer stations according to procedures with safety and quality standards
- Prepare food items including assembly, prep, and stock rotation
- Maintain exterior cleanliness including parking lot, drive-thru, and dumpster areas
