Job Description

Flynn Group is a premier franchise operator established in 1999 by Greg Flynn and has grown to become the largest franchise operator in the world. The company owns and operates a diversified portfolio of world-class restaurant and fitness brands, including Panera Bread, Applebee's, Arby's, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. Flynn Panera, a franchisee of Panera Bread, joined the Panera system in 2015 with the acquisition of 47 cafes. Flynn Panera operates under a decentralized business model where each geographic area is led by a Market Leader who oversees several Area Directors. These Area Directors manage multiple units and are responsible for the overall functions of the cafes in their territories. The General Managers report to the Area Directors and serve as the chief managers responsible for the daily operations of their respective cafes. Assistant Managers support the General Managers by overseeing specific departments and assisting with everyday management duties. Team Managers complete the leadership team in each cafe, playing a critical role in maintaining high standards in service and operations.

The role of Team Manager at Flynn Panera is a vital leadership position within the cafe environment. Flynn Panera's cafes are known for their upscale yet friendly atmosphere, featuring a menu of artisan baked breads, fresh pastries, made-to-order soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages. The cafes operate without fryers and alcohol, creating a grease-free, family-friendly environment. This means Team Managers typically do not work late-night shifts but are expected to be morning-oriented. As a Team Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of up to 75 staff members to consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences and uphold the brand’s reputation for quality and warmth.

Key responsibilities include supervising staff, coaching and counseling team members, ensuring high standards of restaurant cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation, and managing day-to-day operations. Team Managers act as role models, fostering a positive workplace culture aligned with Flynn's core values and upholding ethical business practices. This leadership role requires passion for the restaurant industry, strong organizational skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties

  • Serve as a role-model and lead the team
  • ensure that team members are providing great customer service
  • take ownership for the business performance of the restaurant
  • maintain a safe, secure and healthy environment by following all safety and sanitation standards and procedures
  • run quality opening, mid and closing shifts ensuring a consistent positive customer experience
  • coordinate the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts
  • greet customers and do table visits to ensure customer satisfaction
  • recruit, train and motivate staff
  • assist the specialist within the bakerycafe, ensuring team members are properly trained and fully competent in all aspects of food service and customer support
  • ensure objectives are achieved while operating within all company guidelines, cultural values and following ethical business practices
  • exhibit a professional image
  • promote and embody our values and beliefs as outlined on the Premier Card
