The Team Leader role at Schlotzsky's is a vital position responsible for assisting the management team with all aspects of shift operations to ensure seamless restaurant functionality, exceptional guest service, and the achievement of financial goals. As a Team Leader, you will take on a range of supervisory duties across various stations, including prep, meat, cheese and finish, pizza, soup and salad, bakery, guest service, Cinnabon, drink, dining room, restroom, and exterior stations. Your leadership will ensure that the team adheres closely to established recipe standards, safety procedures, sanitation guidelines, and speed of service expectations.

This role requires attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards while also demonstrating a calm and positive demeanor in challenging situations. You will be responsible for instructing and supporting crew members, addressing guest concerns, and monitoring overall shift activities. In addition to operational management, you will uphold company policies related to cash handling, employee performance, and security procedures. The ability to lead by example and foster a respectful and cooperative work atmosphere is essential for success in this role.

Physically, the Team Leader must be capable of performing various demanding tasks such as lifting objects up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and performing repetitive hand motions, including slicing with a sharp knife. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • capable of lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds
  • able to stand, walk, bend, stretch, reach, push, kneel, and perform repetitive hand and arm motions throughout a shift
  • able to perform repetitive slicing motions with a sharp knife
  • able to handle hot food safely
  • must adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • must maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively with managers
  • punctual and meet uniform and grooming standards

Job Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of kitchen and guest service procedures

Job Duties

  • Ensures crew members adhere to prep standards for vegetables, meats, and cheeses and prepare quantities shown on daily PAR sheets
  • ensures crew members wear cutting gloves when slicing meats
  • ensures proper covering, labeling, and storage of vegetables, meats, and cheeses
  • ensures salad mixes and soups are prepared according to recipe standards
  • ensures buns are sliced properly with safety gloves
  • cleans prep stations according to safety and sanitation guidelines
  • ensures crew follow recipes and accurately prepare orders at all stations including meat, cheese & finish, pizza, soup & salad, bakery, guest service, Cinnabon, drink, dining room, restroom, and exterior stations
  • monitors cash handling procedures and holds cashiers accountable
  • addresses guest issues and consults management for complex problems
  • maintains positive working relationships and provides direction and feedback to employees
  • monitors food temperatures and product shelf life
  • adheres to company safety and sanitation standards
  • reports to work on time and meets uniform and grooming standards
