Job Description
Zen Educate is a leading educational staffing company that partners with public and charter schools across various school districts throughout the United States. Their mission is to create smart, timely matches that support students with special education needs and build stronger school communities. By focusing on the recruitment and placement of dedicated paraprofessionals and teaching assistants, Zen Educate plays a critical role in enhancing the educational experience and assisting schools in addressing the unique challenges faced by students requiring additional support. The company's collaborative approach with schools fosters an inclusive educational environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially. Zen Educate is committed to providing excellent service to both their school partners and employees, emphasizing continuous training, professional development, and clear pathways for career advancement within the special education field.
The role of Para Educator at Zen Educate is designed for individuals passionate about supporting students with special needs in a K-12 setting. This position entails working closely under the supervision of classroom teachers to provide crucial assistance in instructional activities, classroom management, and behavioral support. Para Educators help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing behavior intervention plans, offering one-on-one or small group student support, and facilitating social-emotional skills development. Responsibilities also include aiding students with personal care needs such as toileting, feeding, and dressing, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and confident throughout their school day. The position is scheduled for 25 to 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, within hours of 7:30 a.m. to 3:00/4:30 p.m., with a competitive pay range between $24 to $25 per hour paid weekly. Notably, the role excludes weekend work, making it ideal for candidates seeking work-life balance. This early hiring opportunity allows prospective employees to complete onboarding processes before the academic year begins in August 2026. This ensures a smooth transition into the role and a timely start to provide valuable support from day one. Zen Educate encourages candidates with experience or interest in special education to apply and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of students with special needs, while enjoying a supportive work environment and ongoing professional development.
