Currently, Zen Educate is hiring Para Educators for the 2026-2027 academic year, with roles commencing in August 2026. These positions are essential for supporting students with special needs by working closely alongside licensed teachers and other school staff. As a Para Educator within Zen Educate, you will play a critical role in the learning and behavioral development of students who require individualized support. The role involves assisting licensed staff by providing direct support to students, especially those with special needs, helping them meet their individualized education plans (IEPs). Para Educators are instrumental in maintaining a calm and conducive classroom setting, de-escalating challenging behaviors, and facilitating one-on-one or small group learning activities. The role requires the use of diverse educational methods tailored to the unique needs of the students to maximize their learning experiences. Importantly, Para Educators provide critical support during student crises, ensuring safety and a supportive environment.

This position involves regular engagement with students with moderate to severe behavioral challenges, which may include managing situations involving hitting, biting, or eloping. Experience with personal care duties, such as toileting and diapering, may also be required. Zen Educate values candidates who have hands-on experience with behavior strategies and data collection procedures to enhance behavioral intervention plans (BIs).

The roles are full-time during the school week, Monday through Friday, typically between 7:30 am and 3:00 or 4:30 pm, with no weekend work. Pay ranges from $22 to $24.50 per hour, and payment is made on a weekly basis.
