Job Requirements

  • Appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Certificate or eligibility
  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • relevant culinary arts teaching experience
  • ability to plan and deliver instruction tailored to diverse student needs

Job Qualifications

  • An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate Certificate of Eligibility or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing as required
  • bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • relevant teaching experience in culinary arts instruction
  • ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • commitment to student development and educational excellence
  • familiarity with New Jersey educational standards and regulations
  • skills in classroom management and student assessment

Job Duties

  • Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of students
  • evaluate student progress on a regular basis and prepare progress reports
  • instruct pupils in citizenship basic communications skills and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers as specified in state law and district regulations
  • provide individual small andor large group instruction to adapt the curriculum to pupils with varying intellectual and special abilities
  • instruct pupils in proper care and use of textbooks equipment and materials
  • establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly and productive environment
  • select and requisition instructional materials equipment and maintain inventory records
  • develop instructional plans and organize class time for a balanced program of instruction
  • maintain professional competence through participation in in-service and self-selected growth activities
  • supervise out-of-classroom pupil activities during the assigned working day
  • plan and coordinate the work of aides teacher assistants and other paraprofessionals
  • identify pupil needs and cooperate with staff to solve health attitude and learning problems
  • communicate with parents and pupil personnel staff on individual pupil progress and development
  • maintain attendance accounting and business service as required
  • develop and participate in student activities and faculty committees
  • act as a resource person on an interdepartmental level relating subject areas
  • establish and maintain open communication lines with students and parents
  • perform other duties assigned by Supervisor
