Job Description

Intuit is a leading financial software company renowned for its commitment to powering prosperity for individuals and businesses around the world. As a technology-driven firm, Intuit offers a range of products including TurboTax, QuickBooks, and Mint, designed to simplify financial management and tax preparation. With a mission focused on transforming how people manage their finances, Intuit continually innovates to provide user-friendly solutions that empower customers with greater control over their fiscal well-being. Intuit's culture fosters entrepreneurial spirit, community engagement, and professional growth, making it an attractive workplace for driven individuals passionate about finance and technology.

The role of a Tax Associate at Intuit’s TurboTax Store represents a unique, seasonal or year-round opportunity to blend tax expertise with community involvement. Designed especially for tax professionals such as Enrolled Agents, CPAs, or Practicing Attorneys, this on-site role centers on preparing tax returns, providing personalized tax advice, and nurturing long-lasting relationships with customers within local communities across the United States. Tax Associates serve as trusted advisors, leveraging Intuit’s advanced TurboTax software and marketing tools to assist individuals and small business clients in navigating tax complexities and maximizing their financial outcomes.

Working at a TurboTax location, Tax Associates represent the face of TurboTax in their communities, participating in local outreach events, creating accessible tax-related content, and using both in-person and virtual communication channels to deliver exemplary service. The position demands a combination of strong tax knowledge, exceptional customer service skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset to grow and maintain a loyal client base. The role requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week onsite during TurboTax retail hours, which can scale up during peak tax seasons.

Tax Associates engage clients by conducting thorough tax discovery sessions, optimizing deductions, providing amendment services, and offering future tax planning guidance. They utilize professional tools, government resources, and deep understanding of tax laws including Circular 230 requirements to ensure accuracy and compliance. In addition to tax preparation, the role encourages Associates to build an online and offline presence, enhancing TurboTax’s reputation while helping customers achieve their unique financial goals such as saving for retirement, funding education, or planning significant life events.

Intuit values diversity and inclusivity, welcoming candidates who are bilingual (English/Spanish) and passionate about empowering their communities. The company provides competitive compensation packages that reflect experience, location, and performance, including base pay, cash bonuses, equity rewards, and benefits. Specific base pay ranges vary by state, with examples from $22 to $28.50 per hour, aligned with Intuit's commitment to pay equity. Candidates must hold active credentials (EA, CPA, or Attorney), possess a valid Preparer Tax Identification Number, and be prepared to work in a front-facing retail environment wearing the TurboTax uniform.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine tax knowledge with business development and community engagement, all while benefiting from Intuit’s reputation, resources, and supportive environment. Prospective Tax Associates will find themselves at the forefront of TurboTax’s mission to make taxes less stressful and more beneficial for everyday Americans, as well as having a rewarding career path with growth possibilities within a globally respected company.
