Job Description
Hawks View Winery, located in Sherwood, Oregon, is a renowned winery positioned just 17 miles from downtown Portland and serves as a gateway to the illustrious Willamette Valley wine country. This esteemed winery is set on a sprawling 45-acre estate where it specializes in estate-grown wines, offering visitors an authentic taste of the region's exceptional viticulture. With its scenic views of Mt. Hood and the great outdoors, Hawks View Winery provides a picturesque setting that complements its dedication to high-quality wine production and exceptional hospitality. The establishment prides itself on crafting an inviting atmosphere through its welcoming tasting rooms that feature extended hours, allowing a wide range of wine enthusiasts and local community members to experience its fine wine selections and food pairings in a beautiful environment.
The Tasting Room Wine Sales Associate at Hawks View Winery plays a critical role in the customer experience by providing outstanding service while educating guests about wine tastings and wine purchases. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about wine, eager to sell, and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge related to the Willamette Valley wines, food pairings, and the local Oregon wine culture. As a sales-oriented role, the associate is expected to expertly promote wine, wine club memberships, and unique winery experiences. The associate embodies the winery's core values, vision, and service standards, striving for excellence and consistency every day.
The role involves direct interaction with guests and club members in a professional yet friendly manner, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience. Associates must be adept at explaining the tasting process, offering recommendations on wine and food pairings, and encouraging wine club membership sign-ups by highlighting the numerous benefits and exclusive offers. Safety and responsible service are paramount, as the associate monitors signs of intoxication and maintains a secure environment for guests and team members. Additional responsibilities include assisting with purchases, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized tasting room.
This is a part-time position that typically follows a Wednesday through Sunday schedule from 12:00 pm until closing and occasionally includes holiday shifts. The compensation package includes an hourly wage of $16.30 plus tips and commissions, providing a rewarding opportunity for motivated sales associates. Hawks View Winery values punctuality, attention to detail, cooperation, and a positive attitude toward working both outdoors and collaboratively with a dynamic team.
