Job Description

Our winery is a distinguished establishment nestled in a world-renowned wine region, dedicated to crafting exceptional wines that celebrate the full spectrum of terroir and tradition. As a leader in the hospitality and wine industry, we offer guests a unique experience that combines exquisite wine tastings, educational tours, and exclusive events. Our commitment to quality, authenticity, and guest satisfaction has made us a preferred destination for wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs seeking memorable moments in a stunning setting.

We are currently seeking a passionate, hospitality-driven Tasting Room Manager to elevate the guest experience and oversee private events at our winery. This role is a visible, hands-on leadership position that blends wine education, retail sales, team management, and event execution. The ideal candidate will be someone who possesses a genuine love for wine, coupled with the operational expertise required to manage a high-performing tasting room and event program.

In this role, the Tasting Room Manager will be responsible for ensuring a welcoming and premium guest experience from arrival to departure. You will lead, schedule, and mentor a team of tasting room associates, servers, and hospitality staff to deliver engaging wine education experiences, including flights, seated tastings, and tours. Additionally, you will maintain deep knowledge of our winery's portfolio, viticulture practices, and compelling storytelling to share with guests, enriching their visit.

The Tasting Room Manager will also play a pivotal role in event management by planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of private events such as corporate gatherings, wine club dinners, seasonal celebrations, and weddings. As the primary point of contact for event clients, you will collaborate with catering partners, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution, handling all logistics including setup, staffing, and timeline management. You will also be responsible for developing event packages, pricing, and proposals in alignment with revenue goals.

On the sales front, this role requires driving tasting room and event revenue through upselling, increasing wine club membership, and managing retail sales. You will set and track key performance indicators including daily sales targets, wine club conversion rates, and event bookings. The Tasting Room Manager will manage POS systems, inventory, and daily cash reconciliation, while developing promotional strategies and seasonal programming to increase traffic and revenue.

Leadership and administration are core to this position. You will recruit, hire, onboard, and develop staff, conduct regular team meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews. Compliance with local licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and responsible alcohol service is critical. You will also prepare weekly reports on sales performance, staffing, and guest feedback for senior leadership, contributing valuable insights to drive continuous improvement.

This role demands a professional with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, a strong knowledge of wine regions and varietals, and the ability to motivate and develop a team. Candidates should have prior experience in hospitality management, particularly within wineries, restaurants, or luxury venues. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings based on the event calendar is essential. The position also requires valid food handler and responsible beverage service certifications or the ability to obtain them.

If you are a dedicated wine enthusiast with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences and operational excellence, this is an exciting opportunity to join our team and lead our tasting room and events to new heights.
