The role of a Tasting Room Associate at Ballast Point is pivotal to maintaining the company's high standards of hospitality and customer service. These associates serve as the main connection between the guests and the Ballast Point brand, ensuring every visitor has an exceptional experience. The position is part-time with an hourly pay rate of $21.13. Tasting Room Associates are passionate about food and craft beer, acting as ambassadors who share detailed knowledge about the company’s beer flavors and profiles, while providing top-tier customer service. They greet guests warmly, answer questions, make recommendations, and ensure a seamless dining and tasting experience. Associates are responsible for operating the POS system, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards throughout the bar, restaurant, patio, and other areas, and contributing positively as team members who support continuous improvements in service and process.

Beyond the core duties, this role requires individuals who are reliable, possess excellent communication skills, and exhibit a positive, outgoing personality. They must be able to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a high level of professionalism and respect while interacting with guests and teammates alike. Physical demands include standing for prolonged periods, lifting and carrying items, and having keen sensory awareness related to taste, smell, and vision.   • Must possess a current RBS Responsible Beverage Service Certificate
  • Must possess a current Food Handlers Certificate
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve
  • Positive attitude and people skills
  • Schedule flexibility with nights weekends and holidays
  • Preferred Cicerone Certified Beer Server Certificate
  • Preferred POS system experience

Job Qualifications

  • Passion for food and craft beer
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Extensive knowledge and ability to talk about flavors and profiles of Ballast Point beer and food
  • Ability to work respectfully in a team environment communicate effectively and ensure all tasks and projects are completed to the highest level of Ballast Point standards
  • Positive attitude outgoing personality and people-skills
  • Ability to multitask problem-solve manage time effectively and adjust to guest needs and flow of restaurant
  • Must possess a current RBS Responsible Beverage Service Certificate
  • Must possess a current Food Handlers Certificate
  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server Certificate preferred
  • POS Point of Sale system experience preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Schedule flexibility with nights weekends and holiday availability preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet every customer with a smile and inviting welcome and thank every customer for visiting inviting them back and upholding the Ballast Point guest service as a top priority
  • Share about all Ballast Point craft beer and food offerings correctly and passionately answering all guest questions and making food and beer menu recommendations
  • Follow our Steps of Service to ensure all food and beverages are delivered with exceptional care and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with their food beverages and service
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of ABC laws for legal sale of alcohol by verifying guest identification responsibly serving alcohol
  • Maintain and uphold brand and safety standards for keeping the bar restaurant patio private dining rooms and bathrooms clean and sanitary
  • Remove dirty and unneeded glassware and plates from customer s dining space and ensure the floors and seating areas are free of trash and debris
  • Operate POS system Aloha for sale of food beer and merchandise
  • Contribute as a valuable respectful team member by communicating effectively and driving process and service improvements
