The Front Office Manager role at The Davenport Grand Hotel is essential to maintaining the highest standards of customer service and operational excellence. This position focuses on ensuring that all members of the Front Office team, including new hires, are thoroughly trained to meet departmental standards. The manager empowers staff to deliver exceptional customer service, consistently meeting or exceeding budgeted profit and margin goals. Responsibilities include managing human resources functions such as recruiting, selection, orientation, training, coaching, performance reviews, and recognition programs, all aimed at maintaining a skilled and highly motivated workforce. The Front Office Manager also prepares an annual departmental budget aligned with the hotel's overall operations plan and ensures compliance with employment laws and the Innkeeper laws of the jurisdiction. This position requires a commitment to customer service excellence, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to effectively communicate with both guests and team members. Job Requirements

  • College level reasoning, math, and language skills
  • two years prior departmental management experience in front office or related disciplines
  • time management and negotiation skills
  • ability to manage and lead each discipline of the department independently
  • ability to manage according to employment and Innkeeper laws of the jurisdiction
  • prior cash handling experience
  • ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees
  • read, write and speak English fluently
  • computer experience
  • no employee will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of self or others
