Job Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years progressive hotel or related experience
  • or 4-year degree with 4 to 5 years experience
  • or 2-year degree with 5 to 6 years experience
  • Able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Approach encounters with attentiveness and courtesy
  • Attend required meetings and training
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage
  • Maintain regular attendance per standards
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming including nametags

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings, including weekly training sessions presented by managers and self
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers, M.I.D.s and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and comply with standard accounting procedures
  • Develop managers for future advancement through training programs
  • Conduct daily Highgate Hotel Brand Review (HHBR) meetings focusing on sales prospecting and account calls
  • Engage in hotel sales efforts by calling top accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions
  • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
  • Monitor and develop management trainees
  • Adhere to Highgate Hotel policies and train new managers to ensure compliance
  • Assist in the hotel budget process
  • Ensure all departments comply with Highgate Hotel Garden Standard of the Week training
  • Maintain a positive team-oriented environment focusing on guest satisfaction through employee development
  • Inspect rooms regularly with Housekeeping and Property Engineering managers
  • Oversee processing of invoices daily using the A/P process
  • Ensure monthly financial documents compliance with the corporate office accounting calendar
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive maintenance programs
  • Ensure employees maintain attentiveness and courteous interactions
  • Forecast monthly financial position through revenue and expense analysis
  • Conduct hiring interviews and ensure compliance with hiring standards
  • Perform performance appraisals and ensure managers administer appraisals properly
  • Coach, counsel, and discipline management personnel per S.O.P.s
  • Perform other duties requested by Vice President or Regional Director of Operations
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
  • Meet clients on property to assist sales efforts
  • Greet guests in public areas during peak times
  • Ensure security and audit of hotel safe
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and enforce credit and collection policies
  • Complete required corporate training modules and become certified to train
  • Ensure scheduled meetings take place on property
