Job Requirements

  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • sales experience in hospitality or in a related field
  • valid driver’s license in the applicable state
  • possess highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to influence others and negotiate
  • have thorough experience with professional selling skills including opening, probing, supporting, closing
  • must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
  • general database management knowledge
  • ability to take initiative, to succeed under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • basic market knowledge
  • strong organization and presentation skills
  • must be proficient in Windows operating systems, company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • must have a desire to serve all guests
  • must be 18 years of age or older to perform this job

Job Duties

  • Travel 100% as a road warrior
  • develop and execute strategic plans to achieve optimal occupancy and ADR growth
  • maximize total revenues and control expenses to meet and exceed profitability objectives
  • oversee hotel sales department operations including direct sales, follow-up, sales administration, hiring, training, managing, and coaching
  • supervise sales team when applicable
  • execute and support business booking operations including proposals, contract writing, and customer correspondence
  • oversee event management of group bookings ensuring seamless experience
  • proactively develop action plans, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients
  • build and maintain professional relationships with clients, meeting planners, referral sites, and lead generators
  • maintain strong visibility in community and industry organizations including site visits, trade shows, and sales calls
  • attend meetings and functions required by hotel management
  • promote teamwork and maintain positive working relationships with associates
  • perform other duties as assigned
