HHM’s Taskforce team plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and stability across the company’s diverse hotel portfolio. This unique taskforce position is tailored for a highly adaptable and skilled financial professional who is able to travel to different properties as needed, stepping into the accounting office to manage day-to-day operations and provide strategic financial leadership. The individual in this role is expected to ensure seamless execution of financial processes that align with the company’s standards while adapting to the distinct requirements of various hotels and brands. This position offers substantial career growth potential, with clear paths leading to Director of Finance, Area Director of Finance, and ultimately Regional Director of Finance roles.

As a member of the Taskforce, you will have the opportunity to influence and lead teams across multiple locations, developing a deep understanding of hotel financial operations, tax compliance, budgeting, reporting, and profitability analysis. Your responsibilities will include interviewing, selecting, training, and coaching staff, while also monitoring the overall financial performance of each hotel. You will collaborate closely with hotel management to analyze financial data, provide insightful recommendations, and ensure all financial reports are accurate and submitted on time. In addition, you will safeguard assets through a robust control environment and identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities during budget reviews.

This role demands a high degree of travel and flexibility, as you will be required to relocate temporarily among multiple properties to meet operational needs. The work environment involves varied schedules, including holidays and weekends, combined with the physical capability to sit for extended periods and perform light lifting. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 3-5 years as assistant Controller in Hotel
  • High degree of travel and the ability to work in various locations for extended periods as needed

Job Duties

  • Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values
  • Analyze financial data of operations to advise hotel management and assist in maintaining an efficient operation
  • Leverage strong functional leadership and communication skills to influence the management team and to lead own team
  • Submit reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines
  • Ensure profits and losses are documented accurately
  • Achieve and exceed goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work
  • Monitor all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued
  • Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, or verify information or data
  • Maintain a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability and manage business risks
  • Generate and review financial reports that are linked to the plan’s financial goals
  • Provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
