Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, and supported by a global workforce of more than 9,500 employees, the company maintains a strong mission to redefine chemical distribution, aiming to be the most valued distributor on the planet. Committed to sustainability and community welfare, Univar Solutions promotes solutions that help keep environments healthy, fed, clean, and safe for everyone.
The company fosters an inclusive and collaborative culture that values diverse perspectives and expertise. The organization places a strong emphasis on work-life balance, flexible working arrangements, and professional growth opportunities, ensuring an enriching employment experience within the chemical distribution industry. Univar Solutions is committed to diversity, equal opportunity, and providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities, creating a supportive environment for all team members.
The Tank Farm Operator role at Univar Solutions is a vital position responsible for the efficient operation and management of tank farm facilities at the Denver location (4300 Holly St, Denver, CO 80216). This position demands a keen eye for safety, accuracy, and compliance with state and federal regulations governing the handling and shipping of bulk chemicals. Operators play a pivotal role in shipping and receiving bulk chemicals, ensuring timely and accurate filling, packing, and dispatching of customer orders while maintaining stringent quality and safety standards.
The job involves routine inspection and maintenance of tank farm equipment and facilities to ensure operational readiness and safety. Operators handle the blending, pumping, and transferring of hazardous chemicals between railcars, tanks, and trailers. They are also responsible for packaging products into totes and drums and maneuvering trailers within the tank farm yard using a hostler vehicle. Given the hazardous nature of the materials, adherence to strict safety protocols and immediate reporting of any operational issues to Warehouse or Operations Managers is crucial.
This role requires physical stamina to work in both office and plant environments, including outdoors in all weather conditions, and the ability to respond effectively to emergency situations. The Tank Farm Operator must be capable of leading Emergency Response Teams when needed and demonstrate the capacity to operate various warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. The position demands flexibility regarding work hours, including the potential for extended shifts.
The compensation for this role starts at $30.25 per hour, with specific wages determined in alignment with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) covering the position. The CBA also provides access to comprehensive health and retirement benefits, paid holidays, and paid time off. Univar Solutions emphasizes rewarding employee contributions with annual bonuses and salary reviews, further enhancing the total compensation package. Joining Univar Solutions as a Tank Farm Operator means becoming part of a globally respected company dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and community well-being while offering a stable and rewarding career path.
